Earth Day 2026: Our Power, Our Planet

Every action counts.

Get your teams re-engaged with fun, bitesized, and competitive games

This Earth Day (April 22nd 2026) is all about the power of collective action. Every action counts, especially if it’s done locally with your neighbours, your friends or your colleagues. Building community is a crucial (and fun) part of effective climate action!

Earth Day For Organisations

We know it can be difficult to engage your audience (whether they be your employees, students, or customers) with sustainability. We’ve made it our mission to help organisations to make sustainability more positive and engaging through fun digital games. Small actions, even digital ones, can help to build the momentum for change.

Earth Day For Individuals

We’ll be hosting a special “Climate Catch up” event in Dublin, coffee and local climate action, details to follow!

In the run up to Earth Day, keep an eye out for what’s going on in your local area. A good place to start is on the EarthDay.org website where they have a global map of events (and your can register your own).

If you want to start your own action then why not check out the National Spring Clean with An Taisce, Ireland’s largest anti-litter campaign, that is running all of April 2026. You can register an event and receive a litter picking kit here, and find local groups tagged on their Facebook page.

It’s also the perfect time to connect with local year-round initiatives and projects like Community Gardens (you can find a map of community gardens in Ireland here) and clean up groups like Ireland’s TidyTowns.

If you want to play one of our sustainability games and you’re based in Ireland then the best way is to play the MyWaste.ie “Take a Minute, before you bin it” recycling game that was launched in 2025. You can find it here.

MyWaste.ie Waste Game

Is your organisation still looking for an Earth Day activity?

The “Waste Watch” Earth Day game is the perfect way to re-engage your colleagues with sustainability. It’s a fun and quick way to join in with your organisation’s sustainability initiatives. Our games are usually rated 4.5/5 stars for enjoyment and players almost always learn something new!

Who is this for?

  • Sustainability and green teams at large organisations looking for innovative and effective engagement tools (we’ve worked with banks, utilities, professional services, universities and more)

  • Sustainability champions who want to increase the profile of sustainability initiatives and topics within their organisation (while keeping things fun!)

  • Facilities managers, office managers, and staff responsible for waste management: our waste games are an effective way of engaging people, at scale, on issues like waste contamination in office bins while delivering measurable increases in waste knowledge

How can your organisation use a digital game to engage your audience?

  • Link it to a individual competition (prizes for the top players)

  • Reward small steps like playing the game for 5 minutes and learning more about waste with a raffle prize for random players

  • Company wide collaboration (e.g. get to 1000 stars to unlock the Earth Day prize!)

  • Use the game as a warm up or recruitment tool for in-person sustainability events like tree planting days or beach cleanups

Game Features:

  • Organisation logo included in the game and dedicated game web link / QR code

  • 1-2 week campaign with live landing page and digital game (mobile, tablet and PC compatible)

  • 5 “Candy Crush” style game levels proven to improve waste segregation knowledge

  • Choose 15 customisable waste items to highlight from disposable coffee cups to Re-turn cans and vapes

  • Baseline knowledge and assessment quizzes to measure learning (60-100% increase in knowledge is typical)

  • A campaign report showing impact metrics like number of players, minutes of engagement per player (4-8 minutes is typical), percentage increase in learning and organisation-wide gaps in waste knowledge

  • There are other customisation options such as team / departmental leaderboards and customised storylines and visual alignment with brand colours that are available on request
